Final 81 & Final Iteration

[P1]

Final work for Project One :)
My final may not be as 'abstract' as my other iterations, although I wanted my final to have the effect of 'flying' as I focused on the idea of how reptiles move while at the same time using the 'glass' material in order to show the edgy definitions on my final iteration . I created shadows by using different lights to give the further effect of my iteration flying (in the air).

Final Iteration Trials

[P1]

Here I have experiemented with different colours and have played with the lighting and camera angles. The reason behind the colours I have experimentd with my final iteration relate to Reptiles and how they are usually of a green nature; the blue is inspired by their "cold blooded" nature; the orange is inspired by dragons and their flames.

The reason for a simple background colour is because I wanted to emphasise the shadows created by my iteration to give the impression of it in the air, "flying". I also want the viewer to focus on the iteration itself and not lose it's attention because of a complex background.

Materials experimented with - Translucent plasic film, copper , glass....

81 Iterations on 3DS Max

[P1]

(Note: This is not my final image for my 81 iterations)

73 Iterations

[P1]

Here I have an overview of all 73 iterations. I have strongly focused on my chosen noun, "Reptile". I have looked into the ways in which reptiles move and their body structure.

47 Iterations on 3DS max

[P1]

Here I have an image of my 47 iterations; these 47 are layed out in a way where I have created, for example, two different iterations from one previous iteration. You can see where I have further developed an idea on particular iterations.

36 Iterations on 3DS Max

[P1]

I have been focusing a lot on my words, especially the word 'Reptile'. I have been looking into the different ways in which reptiles move and the way their bodies are designed i.e the tails and wings (it's figure).

The below picture indicates the original (the model created in Solid Works). As you can see, the iterations flow into two seperate paths.

Inspirations for Project One (Sky Tower) - Precedent Images

[P1]

The following photos are just a couple of the different inspirations I have to help my progress as I develop 81 different iterations for my project. As I have mentioned in my earlier post, the words in which I will base my iterations on are: Reptile, Edgy, & Extend.

Attached here are photos of the revolved effect used on Solid Works. I have revolved my Sky Tower sketch by 360 degrees.

Here below I have just posted some of the Solid Works tutorials that I have completed:

Chosen Picture & Three Chosen Words To Go With It

[P1]

The picture below is of the Sky Tower [Auckland] on Guy Fawks night. I have chosen to work with this picture for Project One, DSDN 104.

My 3 chosen words are: Reptile (noun), edgy (adjective), and extend (verb).
